Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, or later).
- Perform database administration activities including backup, recovery, cloning, and patching.
- Monitor database performance and proactively tune SQL, memory, storage, and I/O.
- Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and RMAN environments.
- Ensure database security, user management, roles, privileges, and auditing.
- Handle database capacity planning and growth management.
- Perform disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in production environments.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.
- Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting or similar tools.
- Maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Support 24/7 production environments and participate in on-call rotations as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 9–10 years of proven experience as an Oracle DBA.
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database architecture and internals.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Oracle RAC
- Data Guard
- ASM
- RMAN
- Strong knowledge of performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Proficiency in shell scripting.
- Experience with database upgrades and migrations.
- Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred / Nice to Have Skills
- Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP, or OCM).
- Experience with Oracle Exadata.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, or Azure).
- Knowledge of GoldenGate.
- Experience with DevOps tools and automation.
